Who am I?

I am a recent graduate from Highland K9 School for Dog Trainers, gaining the certificate of Master Dog Trainer. In school, I studied and had hands-on experience teaching detection, dog sports, service and therapy dogs, behavior modification, obedience, off-leash training and more. I have experience in behavior modification, including working with dogs who exhibit resource guarding, aggression, and reactivity. My background includes working with dogs of all breeds, ages, and behavioral challenges, as well as adapting training approaches to suit a variety of lifestyles. In addition to behavior work, I have also taught a range of dog sports such as scentwork, rally obedience, and dock diving, helping dogs and their handlers build skills, confidence, and a stronger bond through structured activities.

I have over 15 years of experience in pet care, including running my own business, Petals and Paws Pet Care, where I provided personalized services to a wide range of clients and their animals. I also spent more than five years volunteering at an animal shelter, gaining hands-on experience with animals of all breeds, ages, and temperaments. My academic background includes a degree in Animal Science from Penn State, which has provided me with a strong foundation in animal behavior, health, and care.

In addition to my work with dogs, I have hands-on experience caring for a variety of other animals, including guinea pigs, mini donkeys, and cats. This diverse background has given me a well-rounded understanding of animal behavior, care needs, and handling techniques across species. Whether it’s providing proper enrichment for small animals like guinea pigs, managing the unique personalities of mini donkeys, or tending to the independent nature of cats, I approach each animal with patience, knowledge, and respect for their individual needs.

At the core of my personal philosophy is the belief that no pet or dog is "bad" - every animal simply needs a bit of extra guidance and navigation in the right direction. Every animal deserves a second chance.
